COURSE DESCRIPTION FOR LEARNING STRATEGIES
Learning Strategies is an ESE (Exceptional Student Education) class that offers support for the core classes such as; Mathematics, English/Language Arts, Science and US History. Math support is provided with an extra math review and homework help. Extended time on tests and assignments are provided in class as needed. Students are closely monitored for academic success and are taught strategies to gain ways to become independent learners and advocate for their learning needs.
Students are encouraged to “Check Yourself” by asking:

- Did I complete homework due today?
- Did I complete homework due tomorrow?
- Is my binder organized and do I have supplies?
- Am I prepared for tests this week?
- Did I review my notes this week in math, etc?
- Have I actively studied for tests (flashcards, review aloud with parent/friend,etc)?
- Have I checked FOCUS this week to see my academic standing and missing assignments?
Students who do this daily are usually the most successful students!!
